Marvel is producing a special one-shot titled Marvel’s Voices: X-Men #1 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the cherished X-Men franchise. This collection highlights the wide array of individuals and cultures that make up the X-Men universe while honoring the heritage and influence of the legendary mutant heroes. The stories featured here range from the early days of the team to the present day.

The impressive lineup of talent behind Marvel’s Voices: X-Men #1 includes Jay Edidin, known for the hit X-Men podcast “Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men,” and writer of Marvels Snapshots: X-Men #1, who teams up with artist Nina Vakueva to deliver a heartfelt tale about Mystique and Destiny during their time leading the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Brazilian fantasy novelists and screenwriters Raphael Draccon and Carolina Munhóz make their Marvel debut with a romantic heist story starring Gambit and Rogue, beautifully illustrated by artist Jethro Morales.

With a focus on Storm and Iceman, two of the most potent omega-level mutants in the Marvel Universe, Jay Jurden, a comedian and TV writer for “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” also makes his Marvel debut. Wilton Santos is the illustrator.

Greg Pak, who has received praise for his work on Storm, Magneto: Testament, and Phoenix: Endsong, makes a surprise return to the X-Men universe with Daniel Bayliss for a narrative involving Jubilee and Lady Deathstrike.

Al Ewing, the mastermind behind House of X / Powers of X and X-Men Red, puts the spotlight on new Wolverine villain Solem, with newcomer artist Gustaffo Vargas.

The ongoing Marvel’s Views series, which strives to highlight many viewpoints and views in the Marvel Universe, includes Marvel’s Voices: X-Men #1. This initiative began in 2020 with Marvel’s Voices #1, featuring stories by marginalized creators like Roxane Gay, Vita Ayala, and David F. Walker. Marvel has since published a number of themed one-shots that concentrate on particular characters or groups, including Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices #1, Marvel’s Voices: Legacy #1, Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, and Marvel’s Voices: Identity #1.
