A bridezilla is created by society that is a women who is overly stressed about her wedding. She usually comes off as either a mad woman or a psycho path, maybe even a royal bitch. Recently I watched the movie, “Bride Wars”, which is a comedy/romance movie about two best friends becoming enemy’s when they have their weddings on the same day.

Now, why is it that it’s okay for people to call a woman a bridezilla on their wedding day but there isn’t a groomzilla? A bit of gender discrimination is definitely shown in “Bride Wars” by having the two main characters begin with little children obsessed with weddings. We can definitely say that both of the women show a girly girl side to prove how they become a bridezilla.

First they begin obsessing over an engagement ring that hasn’t even been put on a finger yet, the two characters found the ring and immeditely assumed it was a ring. Of course rings lead to weddings.

The first kind of competition started between Liv and Emma when Liv got engaged first before Emma. The “war” started when Liv started booking dresses, reception places, invites, etc. Emma seems a little aggitated when she finds out Liv was proposed to first.

Of course this movie really identifies how “crazy” women evidently can become when it comes to weddings. Once Emma was proposed to, they both decided on an immediate wedding, that would happen in 3 months (in the movie).

A big cause that this movie portrays for women is that it makes it seem like women can’t have feelings or a passion about something. If women want to be a crazed obsessed wedding women, let her! I don’t see a movie explaining a guy and his emotions about a wedding?
