The anthology series, Easy, on Netflix could best be described as simple. (Almost) every episode of this show comes with a new story line and new characters revolving around struggles in romantic relationships. As I have only watched about 4 or 5 episodes, I am only able to critique based off of these few I have seen. However, I have already noticed a few things about this show.

Easy offers much for scopophilic eyes. This tv show features many sex scenes, and at times the female body is sexualized. This isn’t surprising. To go along with this, the third episode brings up the question of what it means to be a pregnant woman in today’s society. The husband in this episode decides to start an illegal brewery with his brother, and takes a while to even tell his wife about it. He claims the reason he did this is because with her pregnancy, she is already dealing with enough. Since when is it ok to keep things from your wife just because she’s pregnant?

Easy does offer a diverse set of characters. Because of this it is easy to relate to, it allows everyone with different backgrounds a chance to see themselves in the stories. Not only that, but from the episodes I have seen so far each story line seems to be quite realistic. Lastly, one other thing I have noticed is while this tv offers diverse characters based on race, sexual orientation, etc., so far it seems as though these characters are all from the middle/upper class.
