This is big, folks! We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Roee Dunkelman to the Bear Team. He brings deep expertise working with SMBs merchants and will be adding some serious firepower to our go-to-market. Prior to Bear, Roee spent time at Toronto based scale-up Clearbanc. We’re excited to have him on board to help us usher in the future of furniture.

What are you most excited about as you join the CommerceBear team?

I’m most excited to help build and scale CommerceBear to the point where we become unignorable — that is, synonymous with the furniture industry as a whole.

Tell us a little about where you’re coming from, and what you’re bringing to Bear.

In my previous position at Clearbanc, I was responsible for generating net new business and bringing new clients into the company’s portfolio. I see CommerceBear as an opportunity to build and be a contributing member of something really fulfilling.

How do you approach your work?

Account management is as vital to an organization as bringing in new accounts — you simply cannot have one without the other. For that reason providing unparalleled customer service and support should always be a large area of focus. As far as my approach to being an AE, my goal is to educate a prospect. If I can educate them well enough, they’ll walk themselves straight to realizing the inherent benefits of partnering with us.

We won’t be for everyone, but there’s lots of people we can help. It’s critical that they understand exactly how we can help them achieve their goals, and then deliver on our promises.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Be a sponge and soak up everything you can. And, don’t be afraid to be annoying, ask tons of questions, and lean into all the people and resources you have at your disposal.

What’s your deep cut ecommerce channel of choice?

I’m actually not much of an online shopper, since I’m all about the fit. It’s a cop-out answer, but I typically rely on Amazon. One thing I’ve noticed is that good, clean, and impactful copy is hard to come by, and when leveraged properly can make all the difference.

What’s your favourite article of furniture?

The L couch — it just makes sense!

What’s your go-to downtime activity?

Playing the drums, chipping golf balls in my basement, snowboarding, or feeding the people delivering meals as a bike courier.
