As inflation rears its ugly head across the globe, fears of a recession are on the rise.

More than ever, corporate decision-making requires controlling information that is both accurate and granular.

Large enterprises work with ERP tools from SAP or Oracle. These are powerful, but not a good fit for smaller companies.

Smaller companies rely on Excel or Google Sheets to compile data from various sources into controlling reports; a manual, time-consuming, and error-prone process. And let’s not even get started on collaboration.

Clearly, there has to be a better way.

With Helu, financial controlling and analysis become seamless.

Built on top of accounting data, Helu generates reliable financial reports with minimal effort. Helu enables finance professionals to smooth out the controlling process and automate reporting. Even liquidity planning is no longer a chore with Helu. Helu can integrate non-financial data from e.g. CRM and HR management tools.

These characteristics will allow Helu to become a powerful FP&A platform and critical component in the software stack of modern finance teams making important strategic decisions.

Helu is led by ambitious repeat-founder Franz Salzmann. We are impressed by Franz’ strong entrepreneurial energy and drive. He has a deep passion for his product and the problems it helps to solve. He trusts and inspires the people around him and is able to attract exceptional talent.

The result is a team that is aligned behind a common goal and a healthy, dynamic company culture.

We at CommerzVentures couldn’t be more excited to lead Helu’s $10m Series A round and join Franz and his dedicated team on their journey to empower finance teams across Europe.

We are joined in this funding round by our friends at IRIS and SpeedInvest.

And we are more than happy to team up with existing backer Atlantic Labs as well as a number of exceptional Angel investors including Fabian Wesemann (wefox Co-founder & CFO), Eric Demuth (Bitpanda Founder & CEO), and Oliver Manojlovic (Personio VP Sales).
