Extreme poverty is one of the most troubling social crisis’s facing humanity. According to the World Bank, 736 million people live in abject poverty conditions with limited access to their basic needs like food, water, shelter, and sanitation. To combat this global problem, millions of people every year make well-meaning contributions to various charitable organizations. Unfortunately, a shocking number of donations fail to reach their true beneficiaries. Due to the lack of transparency and availability to track their contributions, many have lost their faith in the effectiveness of relief organizations.

This is largely a technological issue. Commit Good has stepped up to provide solutions to this troubling global trend.

Commit Good is a U.S.-based charitable platform that uses blockchain to transform how both charities and governments function. Their goal is to improve efficiency and transparency within all humanitarian causes. The platform makes use of its $GOOD token to provide solutions to problems facing vulnerable communities in Earth’s poorest places.

Commit Good Helps to Improve Local Economies

Community empowerment is one of the most effective solutions to extreme poverty.

All participants in the Commit Good network use the $GOOD token. Business owners who accept $GOOD tokens can either donate the tokens to a charity or exchange these tokens for fiat currencies or other altcoins which allows entry into the crypto economy. They also reward volunteers with $GOOD tokens for helping those in need.

Commit Good is Creating a Supply Chain for Items Used to Fight Poverty

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime” -Lao Tzu.

Commit Good uses this philosophy to provide complete solutions for impoverished areas. Commit Good is creating a network of off-grid solution providers who will contribute items and services that help those suffering from disparate poverty in meaningful ways. Rather than just give money to the poor, Commit Good partners with solar, sanitation, and clean water companies in a bid to provide lasting solutions against extreme poverty.

People who live in extreme poverty lack access to basic needs such as clean water, sanitation, and electricity. Giving a community these essential services not only improves living conditions; it empowers the residents with health, job skills, financial stability, and hope.

For example, when given electricity, businesses in stricken communities can operate even at night, which improves the local economy. Electric lighting in homes also give children more time to read and study, which improves their future job prospects. Commit Good’s partnerships with solution providers requires these organizations to produce, deliver, and install solutions in impoverished areas. Solution providers that enter into partnerships with Commit Good receive $GOOD tokens as compensation for their services.

By creating a supply chain on the blockchain, for items needed to fight poverty, all interested parties will be able to monitor the progress of aid or donations. Coupled with the transparency of the blockchain Commit Good is using the $GOOD token as a solution-based cryptocurrency to fight poverty at its roots by stimulating local economies.

Partnerships with Local Organizations

Commit Good, in preparation for its official global launch, has already partnered with over 300 non-profit organizations including Charity Center for Children, Twilight Planet Foundation, Gate Africa and Give Her A Chance Foundation. These charities address a myriad of social issues, including women’s empowerment, improving access to education and providing sanitation and food aid to impoverished regions. These partnerships allow for the providence of solutions to multitudes of problems in impoverished communities globally.

“Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are still in their infancy, but we all know they hold great promise,” stated Clay Braswell Founder & CEO of Commit Good, “Our goal is not to become another type of payment system but a solution-based blockchain combating extreme poverty.”

In Botswana, Commit Good currently partners with the Rentse Foundation to build homes for the elderly and economically disadvantaged. They just completed the first home project utilizing the blockchain and $GOOD tokens to fund construction. Commit Good partnered with a local construction company, IMATU Enterprises, which accepted to receive $GOOD tokens for the delivery of construction materials to the Rentse Foundation project.
