we started as a popup healing center in south london. during our three month tenancy, we hosted over 300 experiences and treatments on a sliding-scale in an effort to increase access and affordability. our intention was always to offer healing experiences that differ from what you might find at a yoga studio or fitness center.

we planned to take a few months off to create the next iteration of common healing. during that time the COVID-19 global pandemic took hold and an uprising against state-sanctioned violence of Black people in the united states unleashed.

we sat with the question: how can we best serve?

transformation, self-reliance, and liberation are markers on the spectrum of healing — and the basis for revolution. if we do not heal generations upon generations of patriarchy, white supremacy, capitalism, and trauma how can we build thriving, balanced systems? starting with the individual and rippling through the collective, we must tend to these wounds and imagine the world of our wildest dreams. we must learn that we are capable and have the ability to sustain ourselves in ways that are more harmonious with the planet and less dependent on an economic system of extraction and exploitation.

i realized this spectrum, from transformation to self-reliance to liberation and all that lies in between, should also serve as the function of education in order to thwart attempts at weaponizing knowledge to misguide and uphold systems of oppression.

it is from this place that the concept for a school naturally emerged.

considering social distance measures and the global nature of our community, we will offer courses and experiences in the cyber realm until it is safe to convene. we are a dynamic and evolving entity, constantly adapting to the environments we find ourselves in. at this time, we deliver to you a radical online learning space. there are two offers currently available and many more in the works.

we welcome any newcomers and thank those who have been on this journey with us since our popup on nunhead green. we’re in this for the long-haul, committed to using this platform as one of the many vehicles driving us to our vision for a new world.

with love,

analise
