Commonwealth Labs, Webb Technologies, and Stake Technologies Form Partnership To Support Astar Network
The US-based Commonwealth Labs alongside Webb Technologies have agreed to form a partnership with Singapore-based Stake Technologies to support the Astar smart contract platform as core development teams. The partnership brings together multiple development teams that benefit Polkadot ecosystem chains including Shiden, Astar, and Edgeware.
The arrangement would see Stake Technologies continue to develop community and technology in Asia, with Commonwealth Labs leading in western markets. Additionally, the partnership draws on the team’s extensive work across Parity Substrate, bringing a suite of tools and products spanning bridges, developer incentives, ZK-privacy tools, and the Commonwealth.im governance interface. That interface and experience, Staked says, will be used to deploy on-chain governance to Astar in the near future.
“For Astar, it is very important to have a strong presence in the US given that we have already created a strong ecosystem mainly in Asia and the EU. This cooperation is strategically important and I think this will be a great move that will create a compound effect,” — Sota Watanabe, Stake Technologies’ CEO.
The partnership also brings closer the smart contract platforms Astar and Edgeware, which share an underlying Substrate technical platform. As a result of their modularity, Stake Technologies’ developer talent would be empowered to improve not only Shiden and Astar networks but Edgeware as well. Edgeware’s community compliments the deal through experience in community management, governance experimentation, and a track record of public funding of small teams looking to build on Substrate.
