“Jump on in. The water’s fine,” says Clay Adams, an indie comics creator, when asked about Kickstarter and crowdfunding creator-owned comics during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Adams launched a Kickstarter campaign at the end of April 2020, despite trepidation based on reports that the crowdfunding platform is planning layoffs following a significant drop in new projects.
