Project 4: Form & Color

Overview:

Students were assigned to choose a trilogy of books, and design covers for the series. Only three colors were to be used, but various shades and saturations of those chosen colors were allowed. The assignment focused on the use of form and color to convey meaning, emotion, or certain feelings relevant to the book series.

Process:

The above are my 15 initial sketches. Many incorporate similar themes such as: the use of drawings of the animals and their foods, bright, contrasting colors, and liberal use of arrows and straight lines.
