Times New Roman is a serif typeface created in 1931 by Stanley Morison for The Times newspaper. This font has an formal and ancient feel to me because they are popular in books and even standardized exams. This font does not have anything to do with the Romans except that it looks traditional and is serif. Its strokes are wide is some places and skinny in other places. In fact I have noticed no character has uniform width. The g’s and a’s looks different from the ones we would write by hand. It is built into most computers, making it one of the most recognizable and popular typefaces in the world. It has large counters and apertures. Horizontal part of characters are the thinnest.

Serif typeface, in particular transitional. Formal and traditional feel. Spacious counters and apertures. Large contrast between thin and thick strokes. Horizontal part of each character is the skinniest. Ball terminal on C’s, f’s and r’s.
