Stickers for sorting recyclables

These recycling stickers are well-designed. There is color contrast between the disparate recyclables, and contrast between the stickers and the system as a whole. On top of that, the stickers communicate the recyclables that are allowed through both type and visual means. These give the stickers a cohesive style that makes the message (recycling of specific materials) come across clearly.

Phi Delta Theta rush poster

This rush poster is not extremely well-designed. The first object that the viewer is drawn to is the dog, not the calendar of events or the title. While the color scheme is nice, the difference in value between the light blue boxes on the calendar and the white font is very small. This means that the emphasis is not the types of events, but on the time and date. While important, the temporal information should not be the main point of this poster, and therefore the poster does not facilitate the experience of a potentially nervous person who wants to rush.
