Project 5 — Book Research

For our final project, we have been tasked with making and designing and making a book on any topic we choose. I have decided on making a book of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings, arranged by color.

I have always been drawn to the color and form of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings, as well as her hard-to-crack demeanor (she’s never really replied to anyone who said her flower paintings heavily resembled female genitalia). Additionally, she holds the record at $44 million for the highest price paid for a painting by a woman (which still does not qualify as enough money to be in the top 40 for highest price paid for a painting). She was amongst the first painters to explore pure abstraction, but most of her inspiration came from the natural world around her.
