“Jazz Doppelkonzert Willisau” from 1977

I most attracted to this poster because of its color cordination. The title translates to “Jazz Double Concert” but even without the translation the subject is clear. I really enjoy the visual balance of the figures and how their overlapping heads are centered on the page. The matching colors of the name and figures are effective in making the connection of two separate performers. The contrast it text and figure colors are a nice contrast to the deep navy background. One critique I have of this poster is how all the text is left aligned and looks odd on the right side of the poster. Although I do like how the text is balanced in a way that creates a column down the middle of the page and that no block of text exceeds two lines. Also, the typeface chosen is a nice compliment to the line work of the figures that makes the poster layout very cohesive.
