Exercise: Magazine Grid Tracing

In this exercise, I took a page from TIME Magazine, and identified the grid that was used on the page by tracing straight edges on tracing paper. There are three columns on each page, with 5mm gutters between each column and margins at the edges of the pages (since this is a printed image of the magazine I didn’t know how wide the actual margins were). The title text and catch line are aligned in 3 equal height modules, spanning 2 columns, while the image crosses the center of the spread and spans 3 columns.
