Typeface Tracing

By tracing the various fonts and typefaces, I gained a physical understanding of the difference between the serif and sans serif fonts, as well as the distinctions between typefaces. Adobe Garamond and Didot, while both serif fonts, convey different emotions. Adobe Garamond is a robust typeface that has a feeling of boldness, while Didot, with its varying stroke thicknesses, is more elegant. Similarly, Helvetica and Futura are both sans serif fonts, but Helvetica seems more formal with its strong parallel strokes while Futura is more fresh and modern, as illustrated by its circular lowercase “a.”
