2027- A Year of Love and Havoc
It is the year 2027 and we have been at constant, vicious war since June 2018, about half way through President Donald Trump’s first term, with many Middle Eastern countries after permanently instating a ban on all immigrants coming from this region. The United States has taken a very isolationist position from the rest of the world and there is not much worry or fear on the home front as not a single battle has been fought on American soil — yet. President Trump has served all four years of his term, but has not been re-elected. The press had been completely silenced about one year into the beginning of the Middle East-American war and most of the Trump administration has been handling affairs in private without releasing any information directly to the public. Different media platforms have been battling for popularity and credibility after the reinstatement of their rights and the American public is being bombarded with important and unimportant news and information. Ethical boundaries have been regularly crossed after the hiatus of the industry and education and certain information has been becoming public that should not necessarily be. The journalism industry has had a massive economic boost and is now one of the most promising field for college graduates to enter into.
A very hot topic in newspapers, on television, and on the radio is regarding the invention of the Soul Mate Equilibrium. The Soul Mate Equilibrium is a rather curious invention that has led millions of single men and women across the Globe to find their perfect match through scientific mind evaluation. The scientists use this formula along with analyzing their memories to compare similar or dissenting experiences to enhance compatibility.
However, although this is a completely groundbreaking technology, it is making headlines due to its controversial consumers. Some of the clients using these are United States politicians (members of congress, Department heads, etc). As the technology has been around since the Trump era, it went rather unnoticed until recently. The politicians using this have been higher ranking officials who hold important, classified information regarding our government and our national security. The analysis of their brains are permanently stored in the database and cannot be removed due to legal complications in which a case has been opened within the Supreme Court. The analysis hold confidential information and memories that have been very vivid in these politicians minds and have been permanently extracted for safekeeping within the database. Although this itself only seems slightly problematic, the server it stays on is the issue. Website developers and software creators had only created so much security to accompany the large amount of information the database was to hold.
Since the United States has taken an extremely isolationist position from the rest of the world, enemy countries have made numerous attempts to infiltrate our national security. The majority have been deflected by security officials, but many Middle Eastern countries and Russia have found the database in which many of our politicians memories are held and have obtained classified information that puts the safety of the entire country at risk. Tensions with these nations have been extremely high after the Trump administration and our nation’s officials has been slow at repairing the damages that have been done.
We have recently had many government database hackings after the initial hacking of the Soul Mate Equilibrium database. Some systems have been completely shut off and others have been discovered in time for the government to intervene. We have received word from Russian government that they had obtained data from our nuclear testing sight from the Soul Mate Equilibrium database and our government has been like a puppet in the hands of Russia after this news was revealed. The entire nation has been constructing bomb shelters and many schools have postponed the start of their new semester so that students can spend time with their families. All dating websites have been completely deleted from the Internet, however, the database is still accessible to hackers and the Supreme Court case to remove it is moving slower than anyone has anticipated. Once a small idea to help people fall in love, Soul Mate Equilibrium is single-handedly taking down an entire government and putting an entire population in fear for their lives.
