Glitch Art-Forced Strength

I wanted to depict the strength that women are taught at a young age to show.
I decided to choose an older picture that still stands the test of time with the standard of beauty. The women in this picture holds beauty in her face and her accessories. She is very put together, and has a stone cold look on her face. I wanted to make sure in this Glitch that I broke up the beauty. I was looking to create a way for her to remain recognizable, but almost show a different side of her. With the tint, stopped the manipulation when I got to a rosy hue, to portray looking at the world with rose colored glasses on.
Someone who was looking critically at my glitch could take a lot away from it. The harsh lines that create the breaks can symbolize how one feels on the inside. On the outside they have to stay strong, especially women, but on the inside they may be completely broken. The jagged breaks represents the chaos of everyday life and the struggles that one faces every day.
The rose tint that covers the pictures symbolizes how if one where to look at this women from the outside, they would see nothing wrong. They would just see a pretty girl and carry on with their day. They would be seeing things how they want to, because the world has taught women to be more reserved, to keep their feelings to themselves and remain strong on the outside. Have the tint lay over the breaks shows the some standard must be kept up, even when falling apart. You have to at least try to show that everything is alright.
Another huge symbol to take away from this glitch is to notice that the women’s face, is not exactly on her, but behind her. It represents that there is almost two different people occasionally residing in one. The form of her without her face is just her outer exterior. It is what most people see, but never get to know. They take it for face value. It is comprised of constantly staying up to date with the latest fashion trends, and making sure she wears the right brands to fit in, has the right accessories. It must stay in whatever shape society has decided to deem “attractive”, it is just a mold to be shaped by the opinion of others. The face behind her represents her soul, her emotions, and how she truly feels. The face looks tired, exhausted from being upheld by everyone standards. Beneath the face is where the chaos resides. Though she may look strong from her exterior, she is really broken on the inside.
Her face is also behind her to represent the chasing her soul feels the need to do compared to her body. Her soul must follow the trends of society, even if it breaks her. She must remain strong like her exterior but it is a constant game of catch up.
