Within the first two years of the site being active the traffic reached over a billion in which case trending would be an understatement. This revolutionized to the trend Twitter has accessed within its site. We know see topics that are more popular than others and billions of users are talking about them. The personalization of the user’s own personal account and news feed becomes more and more specific over the years of the sites existence. Now with updates the public could all of the sudden set their own pictures as their profile background and create headers and banners to represent who they are. Profiles started to look more like images of a person’s life through a snap shot of website. Twitter was a way to express your thoughts and let others see what you are up to. Seeing specific conversations of only those that they follow, seeing what others have “favorited” and “retweeted”, and searching a discover page personalized to the user’s site perceived circle. Users like to use it to see what their favorite celebrities were up to and try to connect with them. The site also became safer with allowing a privacy and block setting on the site in order to keep unwanted people from seeing information that the user did not want them to see. Twitter has become a platform for social and political movement where more and more people can voice their opinions and connect with others who believe the same things as they do through hashtags. Twitter has also helped pop culture to erupt. Celebrities are able to connect with fans, through pictures, videos and conversations. Some even interact directly with their fans.

When you look back on that you would never realize that a website would try to customize to the user. Over the years, the logo changed, the site became more simple looking as the features became more complex. The description of the site on its home page was replaced with a brief introduction and invite as well as trending topics to pull the current and potential users in.
