It’s 2027 and a new portable device has been created that allows one to turn on a transparent projecting screen right in front of you. This device is the next best thing after a laptop, being the size of a pager, it can access the internet and save any documents or photos. The transparent screen will be able to be accessed through the touch screen feature or with the speak-in feature.

You may be thinking …

“Humans don’t like change, and especially won’t if it’s having to do a big component of communication”

This device has one clickable button which is the on and off button. Security can be also found in this device through the well-known thumb print indicator which many iPhones from previous years have used. The keyboard will automatically appear on the screen as the device is turned on, which will give you the option to keep the screen or turn it off if you prefer to use the speak-in feature. All in all, it requires much less work than a laptop or desktop computer ever did to access information or a file and is much more portable.

Another well-liked part about this device is that it offers internet no matter where in the world you are in the moment of using it. You can access a powerpoint presentation on a flying airplane, pull up a video on how to start a fire when you’re stuck in the woods, knowing you have internet access at all times makes this device very reliable, perhaps a new best friend?

Before officially releasing the product, research marketers have given a handful of people these devices as a free-trial product in order to see their likes, dislikes or thoughts on improvement.

One of the individuals was a 20-year-old, female student that used this device in place of her laptop during school.

“At first I got many weird looks, since the screen is transparent, people were wondering what I was doing during lecture. After I explained to them what this device is all about they were intrigued and said they were interested. The only downfall is, I had difficulty typing quickly so if it were possible to insert mind-reading keyboard, that’d be awesome.”

This input was taken into consideration by many people that took part in creating the device. They agreed that they released the first version as it was advertised above, and as time progresses, they will add features such as the one recommended by the student in order to please customer needs. The size of the screen can be changed by the touch of your finger, small for note-taking instances, medium for presenting or pitching an idea, and large for giving lectures or even showing a film. Once you’re done using it, simply turn it off and put it back in your pocket or purse, its small size allows for portable usage that can save you a lot of space for other necessities. This makes it great for traveling by being able to access it at any point during a flight.

The battery life of this device is 168 hours which is a full week. No need to charge it daily, or if you’re busy and forget, it will continue to turn on and give you access to any information you need. When ready to charge, simply place it on top of the disk shaped charger that uses solar light to charge itself. After waiting 4 hours, your device will be fully charged to last you the next 7 days.

With this device you truly do have the world at the palm of your hand. Or all the information you need is given to you through this device that fits in your palm. Laptops were once very necessary in everyday life, but now there’s no use for them since they have become so large and heavy compared to this device.

It’s been all over the news, laptop and computer prices have gone down a great amount but not many people find an interest in them anymore. People are afraid of change, but this change is the best thing that has happened in a while. Offering all the information needed through a transparent screen that will eventually be able to be used through reading the thoughts of the user only when it’s commanded to.

Goodbye to laptops, hello to the new way of communication.

The NuScreen.
