The Panic: Google Lenses and Current Hackers

CHICAGO, March 1, 2027- Ever since the release of Google’s Lenses, people all over the world have been able to utilize the search engine right in front of their eyes. Like Google Glass, but in contact lenses form, they give users the power of Google in bigger way than ever before. The lenses gives users the ability to record videos, take photos whenever they please, browse articles, and much more.

Over the past year of their release there have been many issues. Most of the issues involve privacy concern, questions over where users information is going, and how the government is trying to regulate Google Lenses use. But, the most recent and biggest scandal is hacks in the Google’s servers.

Yes, that’s right. People have been trying to, and sometimes successfully, figure out how to hack into the servers at Google. There is little information known about the hackers and what their main goal is. All we know is about their most recent hack which spread a message to every single Google Lenses user.

On February 28th, 2027 at 2:33 a.m., every single Google Lenses user felt a pain in the back of their neck where their chip is located. Right after this the message, “it’s_time_” was seen through the eyes of millions of users. This caused widespread panic as Google’s headquarters was flooded with phone calls, emails, and people standing outside their office. All users heard from Google was that they were working on the issue and that there was no need to panic.

Later in the day, Google CEO responded by saying, “We are examining the situation that occurred early in the morning on February 28th. We are doing everything in our power to make sure all of our users information is safe. There is no need for panic. ”

But, we should. If hacks like these continue, users of Google Lenses could literally see their lives shift and change in front of them. Google speaking out has made the situation more tense as people being to lose their faith in the company.

One Google Lenses user said, “This whole thing is crazy. Its 2027 they should have better security measures in place to stop this kind of thing from happening.” With this, users are starting to dive deeper in to how the Google Lenses even work.

So the way Google Lenses work is simple. When first installing Google Lenses into the user, a chip needs to medically placed in the back of the neck on the brain stem. Once this chip is inserted it starts to connect itself to the brain, giving the lenses the power to be controlled by your thoughts.

When Google Lenses first came out, this seemed simple and understandable as to why someone would use it. Having Google Lenses makes life more efficient eliminating the need for cellphones and sometimes even computers. But, now, the unknown is happening and people don’t know what would happen if hackers obtained control of what users see everywhere.

Hackers pose an issue of control and lack of control for users. Hacking into the servers means that they can distribute whatever information they please to users all over the world. Distributing certain information or false information in subtle ways can cause an upset in current society.

There are two ways in which Google Lenses user could lose control. First, they would be fed false information subtly and over a long period of time. Since Google Lenses have only been out for a year, there is no information on how people are going to be affected from long-term use. Second, their lenses could be blocked from the users own personal use. The hackers could block the users from seeing what they want to see and and only show them what they want them to see or force them to do. There are also very limited solutions.

Solutions to this problem is to either limit use of Google Lenses, turn it off, or pay a costly price to get it removed. As more time will begin to pass, experts are projecting Google Lenses sales to drop and removal of them to increase. Right not the current demographic who has the Google Lenses is mostly upper and some middle class. This poses to be a problem as the hackers might try and use their positions in society to gain access to money or power.

Now more than ever, the majority of people are more relieved that they don’t have the Google Lenses.
