A LADY IN BUSINESS
Doreen Amupiire is a Ugandan female passionate about exploring different businesses. She is the perfect description of a woman who will do whatever it takes to make it as an ideal enterprising woman. Currently, she is in her final year pursuing a bachelor degree in journalism and communication with communication as her major at Makerere University. Along her campus journey, Doreen has had quite an exciting history in the business world as an entrepreneur. From owning shares in a number of small enterprises to starting up her own business, she has proved that she possesses dynamic dispositions for different kind of jobs at just 23 years. Doreen affirms that “Despite how tedious it is to balance books and education, i have beaten the odds and I have successfully gone over my businesses encounters smoothly.” From 2016-2019, she was the procurement manager of a Kamwokya based bar and restaurant called Glaciers where she later bought 20% of the business shares. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2338470396466054&id=100009093494417.

Doreen has ventured in a mobile money business which she considers profitable and one that has not disappointed her enthusiasm.
Like they say, Empowered women empower women and this explains why Doreen attributes the business zeal to her mother who taught her the virtue of being hard working at a tender age. She is also spearheading a public awareness campaign that is meant to increase prevalence of urinary tract infections among women in her home area (Ruhinda north constituency in Mitooma District) considering her research findings which indicate that about 3 women contract either a UTI or any other sexually transmitted disease on a daily on a daily in this area. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2438580773121682&id=100009093494417
Her future plans include venturing into agriculture specifically farming and poultry keeping.These programs will provide a business and economic training platform for rural women in about 3 counties of Bitereko,Kanyabwanga and Kiyanga,all found in Ruhinda north constituency in Mitooma district.
