People tend to deal with the loss of a loved one in different ways. For Rena, the death of the strongest person she knew about five years ago, was a turning point in her life. This experience humbled her, made her softer and kinder. She realized that she had to work on her relationship with God. She specifically refers to Ecclesiastes 2:17 which keeps her grounded and focused on the bigger picture. Funny, ambitious, hardworking and highly driven are a few words that can be used to describe her.
Ninsiima Rena aspires to be like her mother who is a very hard working woman that owns Mother Care Primary School in Wakiso. Her mother has taught her a number of life lessons but specifically how to choose her battles in life. Rena grew up pampered since she is the only girl and the last born in a family of three children.
She had a happy childhood and started her academic journey at Wakiso Primary School before proceeding to Namirembe Hillside High School for her O’level and then Mengo Senior Secondary School for her A’level. Rena joined Makerere University in 2016 to pursue a degree in Journalism and Communication which is a stepping stone in achieving her childhood dream of being a news anchor. She worked towards expanding her knowledge by studying Science Communication as well as the Art of Public Speaking.
In January 2018, Rena started working with Standard Television. However she resigned in 2019 when she realized that her work was affecting her studies which is a testament to her ability to prioritize.
Rena is an avid social media user and can often be seen scrolling on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp. Her hobbies include watching series and movies that are filled with humor and often posts about them on her WhatsApp status. She loves cats and would love to be remembered as a kind generous person that loved her food!
