What is Community?

When it comes to defining, everyone has their own definition of Community.

For politicians, it’s a group of people that interest them, that they know are of use to them because they are their potential votes.

I think Community is people. Wherever there is a group of people that belongs together and recognizes each other, that’s a community. A group of friends is a community, A group of colleagues is a community.

It’s about helping yourself while also helping everyone without judging.

So, to me

A community is a place, a group of people, where you feel safe to share your thoughts, your ideas. And you know they will be listened to. Where you get a sense of belonging. It’s your safe place to go. It’s your space to grow together.

When you build a community, you build an ecosystem that people want to be a part of. And it thrives on the connections and participation of every individual in the community.

I’m not saying that everyone who is in the community always has to be active, always interacting, always making plans. No, the community is not a burden that you must bear, it’s a gift that not everyone gets. And as long everyone interacts enough to not fall out of the loop and not become dead to the community, they are a part of it.

“Like when a water body is in a continuous flow, like a river it’s at its best and cleanest and everyone loves it, be it animals, humans. And as it comes to a stop and becomes still in a confined area it’s prone to become dead.”

And when there is a community, there is always a community manager.

Now, what is a Community Manager?

A Community Manager is the one who is responsible for making sure everyone in the community feels included and no one gets left out. To get people to participate now and then. To keep it alive and full of spirit.

The community manager is not someone who does it for self-benefit. But someone who does it because they want to. And that’s why a politician is not a community manager, he is just a leach who is making benefits out of the community for his own personal gains through the means of manipulation (except for a few).

SO, if I was to sum it up I’d say,

Without community, the world will fall into chaos and disorder. And without a community manager, the community will die.
