Story of a Community Professional — Feat Erica Kuhl In conversation with Paras Pundir, Founder, Community Folks
What is it about Community people that they go about creating this and doing this job. It’s a hard job.
Some people have had bad experiences when they were younger — they didn’t have a network, community around them, so they wanted to create it or outcast or something like that.
Since the early age, Erica loved solving problems, listening & connecting people, saying “you should speak to that person”, she was going to be a psychologist.
In the early days, when Salesforce was 176 member strong, there was only one classroom in San Francisco, people flew in from all over the US to attend the 5-day training program. They were from large & small organizations, spread across multiple industries from healthcare & lifestyle, technology, all having different backgrounds with high-level & middle-level titles.
But when they sat in the classroom to get trained on “How to use Salesforce?”, it had a neutralizing effect as they had a common goal when they go back is to implement Salesforce in their respective organizations.
They woke up one day and someone said to them go & learn Salesforce, it was not really a job but as a side hustle.
