It’s Time to Take a Look at your Human Resource Plan

Welp. This lock down has been fun, eh?

We have all had a lot of Time. Time with the family. Time with our selves. Time to Dream, Plan, Get Frustrated, Give Up and Start Over… and Over… and Over…

It reminds me of my years in Togo. A colleague once told me, In America you have watches, in Africa we have Time. That’s a hard lesson.

As Chief of Operations at HR Innovate, I have found that the time to perfect my afternoon nap is quickly dwindling as conversations turn to projecting Quarter 3. News is swirling, no doubt preparatory leaks, about reopening the economy — beaches and social distanced coffee meetings… and for me that means planning a successful and healthy transition from our 100% Remote Work arrangement back into the office.

It’s not as simple as unlocking the doors. If only it were.

In America you have watches, in Africa we have Time.

If we are connected on LinkedIn — and I hope we can be… you may have seen my share of this article from Mashable on preparing for this next step in our journey.

If you don’t want to read it.. here are the highlights…

What needs to happen before your boss can make you return to work — [Mashable]

  • Routinely test workers for infection (perhaps even once a week)
  • Regularly check employee temperatures
  • Have people come back in smaller shifts
  • Put hand sanitizer everywhere
  • Require that everyone wear masks
  • Institute regular hand-washing breaks

[Quick Disclaimer: I am in no way advocating or endorsing the information in this article or Mashable. I just like to gather a variety of perspectives as I prepare to make significant decisions.]

Time to Make Decisions

I can only imagine, that you, like me, no doubt are facing a number of significant decisions and hoping for a successful transition into Quarter 3. It is not an easy road to travel and can be lonely at times… but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Most people know our company HR Innovate as a Recruiting Agency. And fair enough, we have definitely positioned ourselves as such in the past few years. I made that decision based on our clients needs and potential revenue streams. What you might not know, is that in the past two years we have also worked hard to assemble and train an ALL STAR Team of Human Resource Professionals. Being Recruiters ourselves, we recruited the best in the industry — a task I am very proud of ;D

The HR in our name stands for Human Resource.

If you own or run a small, medium or even large business, you know it’s time to start making some big decisions about the path forward. Your employees will have questions. You, too will have questions. From on boarding to coaching to exit planning, our team is here and ready to support you. We pride ourselves in looking for creative solutions to very real, very human problems.

If you are an employee, I encourage you to mention us to your supervisor.

If you just want to talk about what’s next — give us a call.

Why Human Resource?

If we are to be successful in this next phase, we are definitely not going to do it alone. We all need a solid professional team, laser focused on the task at hand. And I am going to out on a limb here and make an assumption that we are all ready to get back to work and start turning some cash. This is not the time for fear or doubt. A sage once said…

‘Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.’

Our team at HR Innovate stands ready to assist you in your needs and hopeful for our collective future. So, no matter where you are in your journey, let’s touch base and see what the future holds.
