Community of Opportunity Meet up’s continue to grow

We are looking forward to our new season of the Community of Opportunity meet ups.

We wanted to share the next season’s dates in advance and have decided to alternate between the third Monday and Tuesday of the month, to be as inclusive as possible.

Upcoming dates of the meet ups:
Each meetup will start at 7pm (welcome to arrive from 6.45pm) and will end at 9pm with scope of people heading to a pub afterwards and will continue to take place at the Impact Hub Islington, 27 Dingley Place,EC1V 8BR

Tuesday October 17th: How Community Organising can support relationship building within communities, Led by community organiser Fausto Llopis. We explored how deep listening, understanding power, motivation to take action and reflection on the whole process enables strong relationships. The meet up took place in Fausto’s inspiring community centre Pembroke House.

Monday November 20th: Community Organising part 2: Part 2 of How Community Organising, Led by community organiser Fausto Llopis. We will recap the power of deep listening and power and mostly focus on what it means to take action and how this enables strong relationships. Thos who attended both 1 & 2 will receive an Introduction community organising certificate :)

Future meet up dates:

Monday December 18th
Monday January 15th
Tuesday February 20th

Format of meet ups
As we did last year we will try to mix up the format of sessions every month so that we can offer at least one of the following elements in the season:

* Research/ collective learning
* Hear from an Expert
* Inspiration
* Experiential (eg workshops and self discovery)

In addition to the meetups we are keen to also arrange some trips to existing communities in London and the UK.

So watch this space, or if anyone is open to taking a lead on this we would love to hear from you. We can support you to make it happen.
