A Spiffy Guide to Kindred, the Eternal Hunters

Ok, so super excited ka na para magamit si Kindred. Saglit lang, ‘wag kang atat. Alam mo na ba kung paano sila gamitin? Bago mo pindutin ang Ranked button at dumiretso ka sa Summoner’s Rift, try mo muna basahin ang kauna-unahang “Huwag Kang Pabebe” guide na inihanda namin para sa iyo. Ang guide na ito ay designed para sa mga nagbabalak mag-instalock Kindred sa ranked, at para hindi kayo maging pabebe in-game.

SKILLS

Passive — Mark of the Kindred

Una sa lahat, tingnan ang image sa baba. Dito nyo makikita ang special UI ni Kindred. Pwede kang pumili (click mo lang yung picture ng champion) kung sino ang lalagyan mo ng “Mark of the Kindred.” Kapag mapatay mo or kahit assist lang yung target mo, magkakaron ka ng bonus sa basic attacks mo. Ito ang tinatawag nating “Lamb Hunt”.

Hindi lang iyan, mayroon ding “Wolf Hunt.” (Since dalawa nga kayong naghuhunt diba?) Hindi mo kailangang pumili kagaya ng kay Lamb. Makikita mo na lang sa minimap ang jungle monsters na hunted ni Wolf. You will get the same bonus for killing it.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. Mawawala ang Mark kung mamatay ang champion or monster na targeted. Ibig sabihin, kapag ninakaw ng kalaban mo ang jungle camp, o namatay agad yung target mong champion ng wala kang assist, kailangan mong baguhin ang mark mo.
2. May 8 seconds na delay para ma-activate ang Lamb Hunt. Hindi pwedeng i-mark mo ang champion na malapit nang mamatay para sa easy stacks. You need to plan ahead.
3. Ang Wolf Mark ay kadalasan lumalabas sa enemy jungle, at sa scuttlecrabs. Mag-ingat kung gusto mong kuhanin ang mga ito.

Q — Dance of Arrows

Similar to Vayne’s Tumble. Pero hindi ito katulad ng Tumble na counted as basic attack. Huwag mong asahan na katulad ni Vayne na ma-aaply ang on-hit effects gamit ang Dance of Arrows.

You can use Dance of Arrows to jump over thin walls (think of walls that Graves can dash through).

Most of the time, only use Q when inside W’s area of effect. I’ll explain later.

W — Wolf’s Frenzy

May passive at active part ito. Simple lang ang passive, katulad ng Stattik Shiv, you get stacks for moving. Kapag 100 stacks ka na, ang susunod mong basic attack ay may lifesteal. Remember to move all the time! Your Q-dash will add stacks, kaya Q ka lang ng Q habang nag-cclear ng jungle camp.

Yung active part nya is a bit complicated. When you click W, a small area around you will be Wolf’s area of effect. May sarili syang target at attack speed. He will hit the nearest target, pero he will prioritize your current target, parang mga turret ni Heimerdinger or plants ni Zyra.

Kapag nag Dance of Arrows ka sa loob ng area ni Wolf, your Q cooldown will be reduced to 2 seconds (not affected by 40% CDR, 2 seconds lang talaga sya forever, dahil may forever).

E — Mounting Dread

Single target 70% slow, no damage on first hit. When you hit the same target 2 times with normal attacks, your wolf will hunt the target, dealing damage. It’s not a passive 3-stack mechanic like Ekko or Diana, you need to press E, then auto-attack twice. Different pattern, take note of that. Way better to think of it as a Mordekaiser Q spell rather than an Ekko three-hit passive.

Third attack of Mounting Dread.

Ultimate — Lamb’s Respite

Important Note! Hindi ito ground target, ally/self target ito! Lalabas ang AoE no-death zone sa ilalim ng target mo, so choose wisely kung saan mo ilalagay.

3 seconds ang no-death zone, then immediately magbuburst ng heal. Tandaan, 3 seconds. Inuulit ko, 3 seconds. Karthus’ Requiem is 3 seconds. Zed’s Death Mark is 3 seconds before it explodes. Fizz’s Chum the Waters is 3 seconds before the shark eats you alive. Timingan mo ng maigi.

Also! You can use R on yourself while attempting to steal Baron and Dragon. It will give you more time for yourself or your teammates to secure a steal and time it with your Smite.

ROLE

Si Kindred ay isang marksman (AD Carry, sa ating local terms) na designed para sa Jungle. Pwede mong piliin si Kindred for other lanes, pero mas malaki ang magiging impact ng Jungle Kindred kaysa sa AD Carry/Mid Kindred.

Si Kindred ay Jungler. Huwag kang pabebe sa ibang lane.

Bakit?

Simple — dahil ang damage ni Kindred ay nagsscale o lumalakas base sa kanyang Passive stacks, at hindi gaano sa bonus AD (attack damage). Ibig sabihin, mas marami kang maitutulong late game kung marami kang na-Hunt sa iyong passive. Always remember, Kindred scales with Hunt passive more than gold. Kung ilalagay mo si Kindred sa lane, mahihirapan kang mag-hunt ng neutral monsters at ng enemy champions.

RUNES, MASTERIES, and JUNGLE PATH

You need armor and attack speed for faster and safer clearing sa first few camps. Kailangan mo ng matinong leash! Better to start at Krugs sa blue side, and start with Gromp or Blue Golem sa red side.

Reds — Attack Speed x 9, Yellow — Attack Damage x 9, Blue — Armor x 9, Quintessences — Armor Penetration x 2, Attack Damage x 1

For masteries, you can either go with my build below which is 21/9/0, which includes Frenzy, a useful mastery for late game. Kung kulang ka sa armor runes, you might want to go the standard 9/21/0 for a safer path, pero mas mahina ang damage nito early game. Your call.

ITEM PATH

Starting items: Hunter’s Machete + 2 Healing Potions

First Buy— Hunter’s Machete →Stalker’s Blade or Ranger’s Trailblazer, Boots

Second Buy — Complete Warrior’s Enchant. Mercury’s Treads.

(Note: Don’t buy Devourer. It is now ineffective on Ranged champions and is not worth it with your low base damage in early game).

Core items: Blade of the Ruined King, Phage

Optional: Turn Phage into Black Cleaver if you have a fed AD carry or a fed AD mid. Otherwise turn it into a Trinity Force late game.

Luxury Items (late game): Banshee’s Veil if against burst mage/assasins, Wit’s End if against Thornmail tanks or Rammus or Malphite, Warmog’s Armor as last purchase

SKILL ORDER

Start with W: Wolf’s Frenzy at level 1, then Q: Dance of Arrows at level 2, and then E: Mounting Dread.

Prioritize R: Lamb’s Respite, then Q, W, then E.

HOW TO GANK

Kailangan mo mag-gank early game para ma-snowball ka at ang lanes ng kakampi mo. Kung wala kang balak mag-gank, wag ka na mag Kindred. Mag Master Yi ka na lang. Bakit mo pa pinili si Kindred, eh yung theme ng kit nya is to gank and build stacks from hunting.

Step 1 — Mark your enemy. You can mark someone you plan to gank, or you can mark someone you have no plan on ganking and play mind games. Imagine if you are top lane Fiora and you receive the Mark of the Kindred. Your enemy mid lane will think she is safe since ikaw ang markado.

Step 2 — Get Red Buff. This increases your chances of killing by a lot.

Step 3 — Open with Mounting Dread on target. This will slow target by 70%. Enough for a good follow up from your teammate.

Step 4 — Use Wolf’s Frenzy. Make sure you use this kung saan tatakbo ang target mo.

Step 5 — Spam Dance of Arrows to chase.

Step 6 — #KillSecured.

COMBO CHAMPIONS WITH KINDRED

Maokai

It’s easy to gank a top laner with the help of Maokai’s snare and knock up. Also, sa teamfight, you can use your R on Maokai while he is casting his Vengeful Maelstrom. Make sure your teammate Maokai uses his R explosion right after your Lamb’s Respite expires.

Kalista

You can use Kindred as a secondary savior for your ally Kalista. Try this combo too. When you use your Lamb’s Respite, your Kalista will keep on putting her spear stacks on the enemy. It doesn’t matter if the enemy team is invulnerable for 3 seconds, your Kalista can use Rend right after for massive team execute.

Gragas

Explosive Cask will remove every enemy from Kindred’s R. This is a game-changing combo if timed really well.

HOW TO COUNTER KINDRED

The number one ultimate counter to Kindred is…

Janna

Sobrang mahihirapan si Kindred i-hunt ang ADC nyo kapag supported ng isang Janna. Malakas ang defensive ability nya at walang hard crowd control si Kindred. Pwede ring patalsikin ni Janna si Kindred palayo sa Lamb’s Respite nya, at hindi siya maheheal at mawawala ang immunity nya. Gets ba? Kaya kung gusto nyong mahirapan ang kalabang Kindred, pick support Janna.
