For someone like me, who has been off programming for almost 5 years, coming back can be challenging, gently speaking. It won’t make it easier, if you are 44 years old and working in one of the most rapidly evolving branches. You probably understand then why I’m very excited about this year’s NDC in Oslo.

It has always been a boost of energy and inspiration being around Oslo Spektrum surrounded by the most creative professionals. There are many things I look forward to, but I’ve made myself a special menu with a few of them I won’t miss at any cost.

My personal gourmet selection to feed a 5 years old appetite. And I would like to share it with you.

I hope you like it, enjoy!

Starters

Keynote: Leadership Guide for the Reluctant Leader

The keynote speaker is always a must, I think.

It used to be a light, but yet important way to get in “conference modus”. Also, the keynote topic sounds very interesting, who’s not tempted by this?

“Regardless of the technology you know, regardless of the job title you have, you have amazing potential to impact your workplace, community, and beyond“.

Entrée

Event Driven Collaboration

When a top-chef like Martin Fowler has named this recipe, and Ian Cooper has cooked for us, you know that something really good is coming.

Functional Patterns for the Object Oriented

Sushi burrito, Greek quesadillas, Terimayo Japanese Hot Dogs… we all love fusion cuisine, don’t we?

Main Course

Correcting Common Async/Await Mistakes in .NET

If someone offers you “take an existing app and optimize its async code together, showing off performance gains, better exception handling, improved run-time speed, and smaller app size!”.

Well, you have to try it out!

A practical look at security and identity in ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core

A very exciting set of ingredients, salt and pepper (security and identity) in the right balance can give an unforgettable experience.

Dessert

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Cloud (AWS vs GCP vs Azure) and their AI/ML API’s capabilities

If you are not sure which cake you like the most, why not try all of them? Maybe you’ll find your favorite or favorites? One thing is for sure, you will come back for more!
