Competitive Programming Contest: Be the Last Team Standing
COMPFEST 14, Depok — Competitive Programming Contest (CPC) has entered the last stage, the final. The final round of the CPC was carried out offline on October 29, 2022 in the new Fasilkom UI building, first floor at room A1.01 and A1.04. There are 23 teams that qualify for the final stage of the CPC and there will be five winners. Winners will be announced the next day on Awarding Night held at the RI Ministry of Industry Building. Final Day
The final round begins with the participant’s re-registration and then continues with the technical meeting (TM) between the participant and the committee. At the technical meeting, the committee explained the technicality of the competition, such as room, time, and other provisions. After the technical meeting, participants are directed to enter the room that has been prepared to start the warm-up session. In the warm-up session, participants will try the exercises first and try the device they will use so that everything can be used properly so that participants can resolve the question in the best condition.
After the lunch break, the final round begins. Participants work on the problem from 1 PM to 6 PM. The problem is in the form of mathematics and algorithms that tell participants to write programs that will read inputs and issue appropriate outputs. There are 13 questions and programming languages that are allowed to be used namely java, c+ +, and python. Participants work on the matter given solemnly and seriously. The atmosphere in the room was monitored calmly, with only the sound of the keyboard and small discussions between teams. The competition went well until the time was over, and participants left the room and returned to the hotel to take a rest. Winners will be announced the next day at the awarding night event.
Interview with the Champion of CPC
According to group Jangan Lupa Daftar BNPCHS dan Follow Keziajadeh the experience of following COMPFEST was very exciting, even they were screaming during the competition. The most memorable thing when the competition is when they are screaming and they are happy because the event is going offline. The impression of CPC is that the problems given are of very good quality, providing more challenges. Their expectation in the competition was never to expect more, especially to think of being the champion. They also added that joining CPC at COMPFEST added teamwork and knowledge, moreover they would take part in the next competitions besides COMPFEST. Team Jangan Lupa Daftar BNPCHS dan Follow Keziajadeh also give hope for COMPFEST is that hopefully the future will be better and continue to improve the quality of both the event and the competition.
