The Road to Fascism

The United States is becoming more and more illiberal with each passing day. While there have been a few areas in which we have become a more liberal nation — gay marriage being the biggest triumph for liberalism of late — we have seen a rise in intolerance for those who think and believe differently from ourselves, a rise in nationalism, a rise in racism (or at least willingness to express one’s racism), a rise in protectionism, a rise in the willingness to harm others and destroy property, and so on.
