When your life is being threatened the last thing you want to happen is for a bullet to not come flying out of your gun. You already have to spend precious time evaluating the situation, getting a grasp of your surroundings, and finally drawing your weapon. With adrenaline pumping drawing your weapon could even become a challenge. Now, does having a bullet in the chamber make it more likely that an accident happens?
