The Power of Sexy Design

When it comes to marketing material, you’re so focused on creating the perfect copy that you may forget the power that an image holds. Content is of course King and it sells the finer details but the image is what buys the interest of the reader.
After working so hard on perfecting your text, you’re drained and you’re not too bothered about the images. Finding, picking, investing and creating images is no easy task so you use whatever you can get your hands on. In turn this reduces the quality, impact and success of your marketing material. You’ve underestimated the power of a sexy image!
When I say sexy image I don’t mean sex or nudity! I mean creative, classy and thought provoking graphic design:

Maybe its a photo or maybe a graphic or maybe a mixture of both. Sometimes its just the layout but in any case its should :
1. Grab attention from the viewer
2. Convey a mood or message for the document
3. Go beyond the obvious and typical
It doesn’t have to be loud or colourful or even extremely stylish it just has to reach your audience and raise the emotion that you want it to. You have to create and put them into an environment.
I find that the problem is usually not the lack of images used but the quality of images used. If you create adverts and copy, after you’ve finished your text put your thinking cap back on and get creative with your images to make the most out of your marketing materials.
Better yet hire a designer to ensure a return of investment.
