Those who have “power-over” others live in constant fear of rebellion of those they subordinate.

Mind you, the threat of rebellion is a natural; given that all authority is imposed by violence.

That said, if one is fearful of losing “power over” because of what they have historically done with said “power”; why should empathy be given to ones who chose to be deliberately wrong to believe they were right?
