Whether you need them for preschoolers, kids birthday parties, a class field trip or any social activity where you need to quickly identify children in a group, name tags for kids are the best way to go.

This tutorial will help you make them in the fastest most affordable way. We created a new beautiful badge design that work great with any of these standard Avery adhesive tags: 5395, 8395, 15395, 25395 or their EcoFriendly version: 48395, 45395, 42395.

We think these adhesive labels are the best option when it comes to name badges for kids because:

  • They are easy to peel off.
  • Are flexible but strong.
  • They don’t leave sticky residue.
  • They’re affordable

You can buy them directly off of Amazon, Staples or any office supply store.

Step 1: Create the spreadsheet list.

Open a spreadsheet editor (like Excel) and add all the columns that are relevant to you, for example: first name, last name, mother’s name, nickname.

Fill it in with the kid’s information and save the file.

Step 2: Open a free account with Conference Badge

Go to ConferenceBadge.com and click on Create Badges, enter an email and password. That’s all you need.

Step 3: Create an event.

Click on new event from Excel

Complete the fields

Match the columns name with the attendee’s info.

Step 4: Select PDF badges and the correct size

Make sure you select PDF badges with the size 3 3/8" x 2 1/3". This is important because this is the size that will work with the adhesive labels we talked about in the beginning of the post.

Step 5: Select a blank template

We’re going to be using a special template made just for kids badges, so please select the blank option.

Step 6: Upload the kid’s template.

This is the most exciting part of the process, when you start designing the badges!

First let’s get the template that you want to use. Click on the color you want to download (or download them all!)

And then upload that file by clicking on the Image option on the left side menu.

Step 7: Add the info needed and use a whimsical font!

To add dynamic info or info that changes for every kid, like names, last names, etc. Click on the Attendee info menu on the left side of screen and select what you want to include in the design.

To add static info or info that doesn’t change per badge, like in the example below “My name is:” click on Static Text, double-click the rectangle that will appear type in.

Step 8: Download the PDF badges and print them!

Click on the orange Print badges button, enter your billing information and download the PDF document.

At only 25 cents per badge, this is for sure the nicest, fastest way to create name badges for kids. During the checkout process you get the opportunity to tweet about us and get a discount in your order!
