Call us Conio. 3 years ago, having little more than a dream and a burning desire, we started this journey. 4 people and a few patient beta users; we then steadily grew to a team of 16 with an international award winning app. Finally, we began our work with banks and financial institutions to integrate our services into their platforms and reach to a broader audience.

Our goal? Make cryptocurrencies accessible to everyone, easy to use and understand.

The best technology is the one that anybody can use

As it is often the case with new technologies, the first time they are introduced is the most challenging: the first time each one of us used a computer, well, it probably looked hard to master; however, we are all now reading this post on a browser. Everything gets easier while technology progresses, and we at Conio want to give our contribution.

Bitcoin feels too virtual, ethereal? We then have added a touch of made in Italy design, and made Bitcoin look physical: money in your wallet that moves as you shake it. And sounds like it.

Bitcoin is susceptible to thefts? Or what if I lose my wallet, or something happens to me? We then have architected our infrastructure with a multiple-key approach, allowing safe recovery of Bitcoin even in the worst cases of emergency.

Bitcoin seems a hassle to deal with regarding to taxation? We then have worked with the Italian fiscal agency, resulting in a locally famous tax ruling that exempted taxes from capital gains.

Simple, safe and tax-free. That’s what we believe is the first step towards Bitcoin adoption. All of this, while keeping the complexities of the technology under the hood.

That’s the same style we would like to use in our blog. Making hard things easy to understand.

What’s next?

In the coming articles we will discuss the technological challenges we faced in these 3 years, starting from how we found a microservice-based infrastructure better tailored to reliably serve cryptocurrency applications.

We’ll later talk about our findings on Lightning Network development, that we began a year ago when we transmitted the very first two SegWit transactions in the world. And much more to come.

We hope you’ll enjoy our blog. For now, ciao 😊
