Outrage

Her skin tingled as she lowered herself
into warm water, in the cold bathtub
Her tangled mess longing for solitude
as froth soothed out her aching muscles

Letting her mind vaporize to candle fumes
Body wrecked in pity, mind marred by fear
Gripping her fragile heart safe in her hands
Laying in bubbles for sweet time unknown

She stepped out dripping wet with a smile
Rubbing her soft face with a velvety towel
Her air smelt of lavender mixed with wood
and a rising sense of horror beneath it all

She lugged herself to bed, wrapped in silk
Eyes drifting back into unconsciousness
Perfect as ever, her thoughts were no more
Her soul flying back to me, on its way home
