Welcome to Connected.
Dear World,
What a historical time we live in!
We are so deeply enmeshed and integrated into everything around us and yet, paradoxically, we are the most disconnected we have ever been. We have replaced genuine conversations with text messages, quality time with Facetime, and boredom with Netflix. Many of us are privileged enough to travel and see beyond our neighborhoods, towns, cities, and sometimes even countries but how much of the world do we actually know? Do we have the time, energy, mental and emotional space to see beyond our own story and truly engage with the world?
I really hope so because that is what ‘Connected’ is all about.
With Connected, I want to mainly explore this question:
How open-minded and open-hearted are we?
We will explore this question in more depth throughout ‘Connected’; we will navigate themes such as education, politics, society, culture, and art… Basically, we will go through as many themes as possible. However, before we delve deeper, I want to demonstrate the feeling that is evoked and invoked within us when we are genuinely expanding our idea of the world.
It is uncomfortable.Sometimes you feel like this man above.
Sometimes you feel like the penguin below.
Sometimes, nothing makes sense but it is a complete experience. Get ready to experience that below.
