Easy Calendaring for Groups
Tungle — funny name, serious scheduling app — has helped revolutionize my time-management as a recruiter. My tungle link is embedded in my email signature and I invite people to book time with me whenever it works for them. I honestly think it saves 4–10 hours a week of scheduling for me between booking interviews and setting appointments. Replies to candidates interested in a particular job are easy. They sound like:
“Sure, let’s talk about that job. Give me a call anytime or, to be sure I answer, set something up for both of us using my Tungle calendar (link).”
The hard-part comes when I am scheduling interviews with 1–3 other people. Luckily, I have shared calendar access at work, so I can see what people are doing, but it’s back to the three-to-five part phone-call/email tag game of Who’s on First when there’s any scheduling issues. And that’s when they’re all in the same time zone.
Tungle hopes to help this with Tungle Groups. They’re making it really easy to simply build a Tungle link with commas separating them to build an ad-hoc scheduling group to book time with. Check out the screen shot below and video, courtesy their blog.

Group Meetings Without the Group
A business associate wants to meet with you and two of your colleagues. You and your colleagues all have Tungle.me pages. Add each person’s personal URL to your own, separated by commas, to create a quick, ad-hoc group page.
For example, to create a page with my, Marc and Rod’s availability, I would type the URLhttp://tungle.me/Jacou,Marc,Rod (Marc’s URL is http://tungle.me/Marc and Rod’s is http://tungle.me/Rod) and send it out. I send the new URL to whomever wants to meet with us, and they can now easily schedule a meeting with all three of us without ever signing up.
Now, I just can’t wait for them to please put Calendar .ICS invites BACK into the email’s that they send out so my corporate email program can recognize my meetings :)
Update: It looks like there is a partnership with Plancast I didn’t know about.
Tungle also recently partnered with social planning application Plancast to integrate the Tungle.me widget into Plancast profiles. The startup has enhanced personalization with LinkedIn integration as well.
Way to go, Tungle. Bring on the easy scheduling.
