I think this just solidified my vote for John Curtis to replace Congressman Jason Chaffetz.

I’ll just note this. John Curtis has boosted the city of Provo out of alwhat was quickly becoming backwater struggling city that was choking under its own success. Flooded with students and the transience that brings across all spectrums, this city seemed to collectively sigh a ragged breath of relief when the students left in the summer only to hold that breath and hope nothing too important broke when they came back each fall.

Provo, Utah is a vital, stronger city now. Nobody can deny it’s growth and progress since Curtis took office.

• Google fiber and free internet to every home in the city.
• Updated infrastructure and underweigh improvements to bussing, parking and transit.
• Boosted economy and revitalized downtown.
• Stronger sense of community and volunteerism.

He’s spent some money, yeah. Like your neighbor with the nicer house than yours because instead of staring at the things that need to be fixed, he actually fixes them.

Like Governor John Huntsman before him who never seemed to get credit for making Utahs economy among (if not the) strongest in the nation during the Great Recession, Mayor John Curtis has done well for the stewardship he was given, smartly invested in things that still pay and will for a long time pay this city dividends, tightened city services, brought them online and up to the times, and pushed for solid, reputable leadership in the organizations under him.

Sure there’s problems here and there. These are HUMANS we’re talking about.

But to think that being Conservative is the same as not spending money to update and repair critical infrastructure is akin to covering your eyes and honestly thinking the sun stopped shining.

And to know people outside of Utah are reaching in to flood pockets with money AGAINST Curtis is a pretty stark indicator that Mayor John Curtis of Provo, Utah must be ruffling exactly the kind of feathers I want to have ruffled.
