Mail App on iOS 7 Search?

I’m loving iOS 7. It’s like my iPhone 5 is a whole new phone. But Mail is confusing me with the UI for search.

I used to be able to find things pretty quick and there were “from”, “to”, “subject” and “all” filters when searching so I could narrow results if needed.

Now, I feel like a search n00b and, it feels broken but perhaps, it’s actually searching SO WELL that it finds totally irrelevant results.

What am I missing?
