Here are three introductory paragraphs any journalist can use to intro their news story about the President. Feel free to use and repurpose as needed.

The only items you need to have prepared beforehand are (a) the name of the person or group being harshly criticized, (b) the day of the week this happened for journalistic-sounding detail (this was probably yesterday, or today), and (c) the executive order, statement, opinion, spending decision or person being confirmed for a cabinet/supreme court position.

Here are the three templates you may use:

  1. “President Donald Trump harshly criticised __(person/group)__ on __(day of week)__ for disagreeing with his __(executive order/opinion/statement/spending/person-he-is-promoting)__.
  2. “President Donald Trump took to twitter __(day of week)__ to criticize arguments against his __(executive order/opinion/statement/spending/person-he-is-promoting)__.”
  3. “President Donald Trump reacted to arguments against his __(executive order/opinion/statement/spending/person-he-is-promoting)__ on __(day of week)__, stating that __(person/group)__ is obviously not an expert ‘on anything’.”

For flair, you can add on statements such as the following:

  • “… the President said while traveling to __(insert location here)__ by Air Force One.”
  • “… the President stated after going off-script during __(insert event here)__.”

Please, however, do NOT bring up comments about the President’s phone calls, his leveraging the POTUS Twitter account to promote his daughter’s business, or that he needs softer towels on Air Force One. One of those references will surely just lead to other journalists needing to use one of the above templates referencing to the harsh criticism you have now received directly from the Highest Office in the Land.

Happy news writing ;)
