NEXTMonth Recap — June 2022
June was a great month for Connext, with the Contributor Program proceeding full steam, and Amarok launch approaching. Here are the major achievements of the past month.
NEXT Contributor Program
Total applicants: 8956
Community Leaders Track
- There are now 10 new Moderator Trainees helping the other community managers to patrol the server and also provide support to users.
- Many Contributors are starting their own community events! Communities worth highlighting are:
- Thailand → AMA with 60 participants which included a quiz with commemorative community NFT rewards
- Russia → In-person Meetup/presentation with 15 people organized by Contributor TDexter with Merch distribution!
- China → MangoDAO had 470 participants on an AMA while also doing a quiz and distributing rewards.
- Spanish → Digital Meetup held by crypto personalities and Contributors MinistroD and CryptoHippie from the LATAM community, along with Milstein. 455 people attended the Twitter Spaces event where Bridge security and Connext’s capabilities were discussed.
Content & Education Track
- 72 applications for C&E quests/challenges so far
- Focus right now lies on evaluating applications, providing feedback, and working with suitable candidates on the projects they wish to create
Builders Track
- A builder has been creating dashboards to expose testnet metrics that the core team has been monitoring. They will continue building these dashboards for mainnet and help the core team track important metrics over time.
Routers Track
- Security best practices for routers
- Script to deploy router from scratch on AWS
- Script to deploy router from scratch on GCP
- One click deployment script for the router on local machine
NEXTBuilding
Amarok is coming!
The first audit with Code Arena was completed this week, and the devteam is focused on implementing the auditors’ suggestions and optimizing the code. The second audit with Spearbit is starting soon.
Here is what the timeline for the launch of Amarok looks like:
Plenty of projects have started to build on testnet with new crosschain primitives launching on the market very soon and becoming composable with each other. Crosschain NFTs and crosschain streams have already been built.
What else is coming? Connext changes the paradigm of fragmented liquidity and data across L2s and different L1s. This is the best time to build crosschain apps:
