NEXT Contributor Program

On 4/20, we announced the Contributor Program, our initiative to decentralize and scale operations at Connext, ultimately transitioning into the DAO of one of the most important pieces of infrastructure of Web3.
Thank you for all your efforts and enthusiasm. As a recap, we decided to divide all the initiatives into 5 subDAOs that we call tracks: community leads, content & education, builders, routers, and grants.

  • 8173 Total Applicants (we are still onboarding all the members ❤ )
  • 60% for the Community Leaders track, 20% Content and Education, 13% routers and 4% builders
  • 7 Track Townhalls (watch the first ones here)

To kick start operations, track operators (selected community members) have defined track-specific tasks that contributors can work on: ⚡FlashChallenges (spontaneous and simple tasks that need quick action) and 🚀ConnextQuests (tasks of larger complexity for which participants may have to apply).

As we start to see the first results flowing in, we will keep refining this approach where we balance spontaneous initiatives and more specific requests to fulfill needs and help Connext in its mission.

Here are some of the highlights for this month:

Community Leaders Track

  • The first Moderator Trainees were promoted for their outstanding user support and contributions (Trainees have some limited mod powers to better deal with users and the team, and prove themselves to become Moderators).
  • AMA by the Thai community in our Discord server
  • Several upcoming Digital Meetups

Content & Education Track

  • Expect several courses, wikis, tutorials and training videos to come out in the next weeks — there is a pipeline of other high quality initiatives coming out soon.

Builders Track

  • NFTHashi project has been named and is launching beta for ETH-NY, Connext is sponsoring a prize for builders that use the project.

Routers Track

  • Over 100 routers up and running on Amarok Testnet
  • 134 submissions in the public repo, including scripts for the quick deploying router from scratch on AWS and alerting system that deliver alarm messages to email and discord
  • Dozens of guides, videos and medium articles how to set up your router in different languages

NEXTBuilding

R&D

  • The design to integrate with Aave V3 Portals was finalized, and got approved for several millions of credit lines across multiple credits. This will allow us to increase the liquidity of the network when needed and at a reasonable cost.
  • Implemented a new architecture for the Amarok smart contracts using the Diamond pattern, a modular approach that allows for flexibility, extensibility, and upgradeability in an easy to maintain design.

Engineering

  • Amarok live and stabilizing on testnet!
  • Status dashboard launched to monitor services

Marketing and BD

Not much we can disclose publicly (yet!) but plenty of good news flowing in:

  • A top 20 DEFI protocol will be piloting Amarok for their vaults
  • First integrations of innovative dApps live on testnet
  • 2 Majors web3 players to use Connext for cross chain operations
  • We are more than 40k Connextooors on Twitter!
  • $1B+ volume through NXTP
  • Tagline of the month: Build Secure xApps

Ecosystem

  • Connext is sponsoring ETHNY! Create cross chain apps with us
  • Governance Proposal on Optimism
  • Stakeall Finance on testnet with a new cross chain product!

Follow Connext Weekly for all the Ecosystem updates

Till next month!

About Connext

Connext is a network for fast, trustless communication between chains and rollups. It is the only interoperability system of its type that does this cheaply and quickly without introducing any new trust assumptions. Connext is aimed at developers who are looking to build bridges and other natively cross-chain applications. To date, over $1.5b in transactions have crossed the network.
