Experimenting with Audio Experiences in Creativity & Innovative Design
It is 2:57am, on a Saturday night (or Sunday morning I should say) and I am about to design a website. Any sort of mesh of artistic and practical design that mimics reality and drives calls to actions for business development purposes requires a great deal of creative thought in order to drive quality through originality. Tonight, I will be experimenting with different audio experiences to see if I can continuously trick my brain into almost an out of body thought processing environment where I hope to be able to think differently. That’s the goal, to think different, and to think different I am changing my environment through music, or so this experiment goes. Throughout the night I will be sort of “micro-blogging” this experiment on this blog post, updating it as I go. If you’re reading this then please enjoy, however, it is primarily for my own interest. Starting the night off I have instrumental EDM (https://play.google.com/music/listen#/wst/situations/Lmj65pczhqxrkf5sajddqwaobpi) being played alongside bird call nature sounds (https://play.google.com/music/listen#/sr/birds+nature) — this should be interesting.
It’s now 5:28am, and I’ve nearly finished a one-page site with some of the most inspired web-design work I’ve done thus far. The ambiance has not worn on me yet, and I believe it has made me more focused.
It is now 9:12am and the EDM is definitely getting repetitive, but the bird nature sounds are still a nice touch, I think any nature sounds must make you more productive by tricking your brain into thinking you’re in a more natural environment, similar to how green space makes people happier. In any case the work I’ve done this morning was possibly the best I’ve ever done for web design, so at the very least, it worked. :)
