When the latest UK lockdown was announced, there was some consternation. Cue the weary chorus of “here we go again” — as well as several sighs that could be heard across the land.

One group of people have not really seen the spotlight this year, in context of the pandemic. The National Autistic Society (NAS) compiled a report of what it’s like to be Autistic, a UK resident, in the middle of a pandemic. (You can read that here.) Autistic people often make an appearance in news items about the latest round of Covid related deaths.

Advice is few and far between. The human cost is often underestimated, while in pursuit of an economy over person approach. Resources are often little for Autistic people. So here is a list of resources to make use of, and why you need them.

Exemption

First of all you need to know your rights. That way you can advocate for yourself — and navigate the world a little easier.
