0. What is ConsciousCrypto

ConsciousCrypto is a project where we look at crypto-currency as a financial security for the retail investor through the lens of conservative, proven, get-rich-in-the-long-term strategies. The information comes from three books (and a few websites for recent crypto numbers): The Intelligent Investor, by B. Graham; Bogle On Mutual Funds, by J. Bogle and A Random Walk Down Wall Street, by B. Malkiel. Read more about them here.

The goal is for every investor in crypto currency to achieve as much long-term happiness as possible through expectation management and a sustainable investment plan.

To achieve satisfactory investment results is easier than most people realize. To achieve superior results is harder than it looks. (Graham, p.524)

Investing is not nearly as difficult as it looks. […] There is absolutely no reason that the careful novices cannot hold their own or even surpass the long term returns earned by professional investors as a group. Successful investing involves doing just a few things right and avoiding serious mistakes. (Bogle, p.303)

It is not hard to make money in the market. What is hard to avoid is the alluring temptation to throw your money away on short, get rich quick, speculative binges. It is an obvious lesson, but one frequently ignored. (Malkiel, p.55)

All three authors share the same general principles and thoughts. For the defensive investor, and for the majority of the portfolio for an active investor, the strategy they all speak of are the same. It’s a slow, steady, simple race, that in this case can yield favourable results as long as the cryptocurrency market continues to grow.
