Summary

The mission of these blog posts have been to help people new to personal investment theory to have realistic expectations and efficient strategies in cryptocurrency. The goal is to increase the happiness of each individual investor. In this last post of the series we summarize what we have discussed so far.

We have looked at what conservative finance books say and come to some conclusions:

• Cryptocurrency is currently pure speculation and we have to accept this for now.
• An Investment or Savings Plan is important for your financial success. Any money put into crypto should be a well thought through decision to diversify some part of your portfolio into a higher risk asset. Be prepared that you have to lock up your money for some time.
• The markets, especially cryptocurrencies, are volatile. It’s very hard for professional money managers to time this. But that’s ok, because there are ways to invest which takes this into consideration called Dollar Cost Averaging over Long Investment Periods.
• It’s very hard for professional money managers to beat the market. But that’s also ok, because owning the entire market works out great in many ways.
• And finally we discuss how one can own the market in different variations, and what one should have in mind when evaluating potential securities.
