Blockchain has the power to alter business as we know it. The Ethereum blockchain enables entirely new business models for industries from capital markets and insurance, to supply chain and healthcare, to financial management and accounting. Not to mention it has begun to shift the means by which companies are funded and new ventures are accelerated.

ConsenSys Academy is ushering in this revolution by bridging the Ethereum knowledge gap worldwide. In service of that goal Academy has partnered with top global business schools to create a first-of-its-kind blockchain-based MBA venture competition. This competition, which will bring together student teams across 6 participating global campuses, seeks to find the most groundbreaking business use cases, the most dynamic and airtight pitches, and to inspire the most passionate blockchain advocates of the future.

Blockchain technology has created the potential for a multitude of revolutionary business use cases. ConsenSys Academy is excited to offer an opportunity for students to explore these new opportunities and collaborate on innovative ventures.

The Competition

The best projects come from an interdisciplinary perspective. Participating teams are encouraged to collaborate with students from other academic backgrounds on their campus including, but not limited to engineering, law, medicine, and design in order to create their pitches. Teams must have at least three students and at least one MBA student in order to participate.

Groups will collaborate throughout the fall semester to create ventures that focus on blockchain-based solutions. ConsenSys Academy will match teams with industry-leading blockchain mentors to shape their venture and boost their pitch development. This will be a collaborative, experiential learning and building experience with student teams working across a network of on-campus collaborators, global and like-minded student teams, and ConsenSys developers and entrepreneurs.

This is the first competition of its kind. ConsenSys Academy plans to run this competition annually and to bring on more partner schools in the future.

Participation

ConsenSys Academy is excited to announce that the 2017–2018 Competition is open to students at six participating schools: LBS, Penn-Wharton, INSEAD, Berkeley-Haas, MIT-Sloan, and Columbia.

Pitches will be considered for ConsenSys funding for their new venture, and participating students will be considered for a full-time position at the world’s largest blockchain venture studio.

If you’re a student at one of the participating schools, please click here for more information. Applications are open NOW through October 30th.
