Consistency is the cornerstone of success in any endeavor, and writing on Medium is no exception.
For many aspiring writers, the idea of producing content regularly may seem formidable, but it’s certainly achievable with the right mindset and approach.
I can say that ideas are everywhere, waiting to be plucked from everyday conversations, observations, experiences, etc.
For instance, just yesterday, while engaged in a WhatsApp group conversation, someone shared stories about exploring opportunities abroad, and talked about “jetlag”.
That's where I got an idea and put it into writing and posted it here on Medium. Here it is;
So, one might wonder, where do these ideas manifest?
They emerge organically, whether during a walk, at work, in the sanctuary of one's home, or from other writers' stories here on Medium.
After you get an idea, you jot it down somewhere; maybe on the phone notebook, etc. You write it as a hint or title so that later when you’re settled you can work on that idea by writing a full article and schedule it for publishing.
That’s what I do.
It's essential to acknowledge that writing on Medium is not about churning out lengthy essays or meticulously crafted op-eds;
.....instead, it's about embracing conciseness. Stories come in various forms, ranging from one-minute reads to more expansive narratives.
But for me, I find the sweet spot to be stories spanning one to four minutes—long enough to captivate the reader's attention yet succinct to maintain engagement.
The beauty of writing consistently on Medium lies in its transformative power. Beyond honing one's writing skills, it fosters discipline, resilience, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
Moreover, the Medium platform offers a supportive community eager to celebrate and engage with diverse voices.
